1. Boppard Light Magic

The Upper Market Square in Boppard will be transformed into a sparkling sea of lights. Then, for the first time, the Tourist Information Office and the town of Boppard will celebrate the ‘Boppard Light Magic – Let it glow’.

From 5 p.m., the Boppard Tourist Information Office invites all citizens and guests to take part in this moment and together make the Christmas tree on the Upper Market Square shine.

The event begins with a musical prelude by singer Natalie Ketzer, who will get everyone in the mood for the highlight of the evening with festive music and atmosphere. Then the countdown will begin, and after the last few seconds, the lights on the Christmas tree will shine brightly. A moment that marks the beginning of Advent and the contemplative Christmas spirit.

But the evening is far from over after the light festival: until 9 p.m., guests have the opportunity to discover the Christmas offers of local shops during late-night shopping. Browse, find gifts and be enchanted by the festive atmosphere – all this is possible on this special evening. Additional music creates the perfect atmosphere as you stroll through the festively decorated town.

However, the ‘Bopparder Lichterzauber’ is not just an event, but also a call to all citizens to actively participate in the festive decoration of the town. The Boppard Tourist Information Office asks all residents to join in and let Boppard shine. The idea: Boppard should become the ‘gift parcel town’! This is very easy to do by wrapping a cardboard box – such as a shoebox – in festive wrapping paper, wrapping it with a string of lights and then hanging it out of the window. In this way, citizens can help to make the whole town shine in the glow of Christmas lights.

Another tip: visit the local restaurants and indulge in the many delicacies on offer with a cosy drink or a tasty snack. The organisers are looking forward to welcoming many guests and to an evening full of light, music and pre-Christmas cheer!
