Eleven days of enjoyment, music, and warm hospitality: the 78th Bingen Wine Festival invites you to enjoy unforgettable festivities in downtown Bingen under the motto “Sunshine in a Glass.” At five festival venues throughout the city center, 14 authentic winemakers, local restaurateurs, and musicians showcase what makes Bingen so special: excellent wines, genuine joie de vivre, and warm-hearted hosts.

This traditional event is one of the wine festivals that has been awarded the “Rheinhessen AUSGEZEICHNET” (Rheinhessen EXCELLENT) seal of quality several times and offers a mixture of atmospheric live entertainment, culinary diversity, and unforgettable festive moments in the midst of one of the most charming wine-growing regions at the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site – where four wine-growing regions meet.

Kick-off for 11 days of enjoyment
The official starting signal will be given on Friday, August 29, at 6 p.m. on Bürgermeister-Neff-Platz: Mayor Thomas Feser will open the wine festival together with the Wine Senate in the traditional manner with the symbolic “Binger pencil.” The duo Alex & Lea Funk will provide the musical backdrop before the celebrations get underway in all the squares

This year, guests can once again look forward to a variety of popular highlights: from the spectacular fireworks display over Klopp Castle (Saturday, August 30) to the atmospheric bridge festival with fireworks on the Nahe River (Wednesday, September 3), the 2nd charity duck race (Saturday, September 6), and the grand wine festival parade (Sunday, September 7). The diverse music and entertainment program at all five festival venues is organized in collaboration with the participating winemakers and, in addition to pop, DJs, and traditional brass band music, this year will also feature brand-new, exciting event formats created by the winemakers themselves.

“For many, the Bingen Wine Festival is the most beautiful festival of the year – an invitation to discover Bingen in all its facets – with wine, culture, and hospitality. With this year's motto, ‘Sunshine in a Glass,’ we are not only celebrating our excellent wines, but also what makes us great hosts: joie de vivre, warmth, and living tradition,” said Mayor Thomas Feser.

After an exciting start in 2023, a highlight returns on Wednesday, September 3, with the Ferris wheel wine tasting. At lofty heights, guests enjoy a unique view of Bingen and the Rhine Valley from their own gondola, seven wines from seven Bingen wineries, and a hearty snack package. The wine experience is hosted by the Bingen wine royalty.
Another special highlight is the festive “Prinzess-Schwätzerchen” wine tasting. The wine royalty and the Bingen Schwätzerchen invite you to an enjoyable evening with a champagne reception, a four-course menu, and a total of 12 selected wines from the Bingen vineyards. The wine tasting will be charmingly hosted by the wine royalty themselves.
