Through the Kasbach Valley in a red rail bus – the steep-gradient railway experience from Linz am Rhein to Kalenborn!

Take the Kasbachtalbahn railway to hike, walk, or run up to Vettelschoß-Kalenborn. Where the Siebengebirge and Westerwald mountains meet on the right bank of the Rhine south of Bonn lies the Kasbachtal valley with its unspoiled forests on steep slopes and rugged basalt quarries. A historic rail bus from the 1950s runs hourly from Linz am Rhein station through the Kasbachtal valley to Kalenborn.

The railcar stops at Kasbach station and at the “Alte Brauerei” platform, which attracts visitors with its rustic restaurant and idyllic beer garden. Right next to the Kalenborn mountain station, The Little Britain Inn Hotel invites you to enjoy a unique British experience. Hop on board and take a nostalgic journey with the Red Brummer!

If you have a little time, you can hike from Kalenborn to the brewery and/or from the brewery to Linz. The romantic hiking trail runs from Kalenborn station, close to the railway line, along the babbling Kasbach stream. This official Rheinsteig feeder trail through the idyllic Kasbach valley is marked with a yellow “R.” But the well-developed hiking trails around Kalenborn also invite you to hike, walk, and run. Enjoy the landscape back to the valley on foot, by bike, or by rail bus.

A special birthday, a family celebration, a club trip, or a company party - plan something extra special and charter our rail bus. The rail bus will travel according to your wishes - just for you and your guests - and turn your trip or celebration into an unforgettable experience.

Are you looking for an original gift? How about a voucher for a trip on the Kasbachtalbahn railway? It's guaranteed to be a hit with railway fans of all ages.
