Since 1978, the municipal library has been housed in the former Kurpfälzisches Rentmeisterei building, which later became the Bad Neuenahr rectory.

As early as 1400, there was a wine estate belonging to the Counts of Neuenahr on the site at the corner of Mittelstraße and Willibrordusstraße.

The Rentmeisterei was built between 1608 and 1610, but was burned down by French soldiers in 1691.

It was rebuilt around 1710. From 1822 to 1901, the former Rentmeisterei building served as a Catholic rectory for the Beul district of the municipality of Neuenahr. It was thanks to the parish priest that the Poor Clare sisters, who still reside in Bad Neuenahr to this day, found a home in the old town hall in 1920, from where they moved in 1928 to the monastery building on Uhlandstraße, which has since been demolished. The old rectory was subsequently used as a Catholic clubhouse.

Today, the city library offers a comprehensive range of media for everyone!

The city library offers around 35,000 items for loan. These include books (novels, non-fiction, children's and young adult literature), audiobooks, CD-ROMs, DVDs, and music CDs. In addition, there are 23 popular specialist journals available by subscription.

The media offering also includes a reference collection in the reading room and antiquarian and local history books in the stacks.

In addition, digital media can be borrowed via the Onleihe service. In association with other libraries in Rhineland-Palatinate, the city library offers over 100,000 e-books, e-audios, e-videos, e-magazines, and e-papers, as well as e-learning via the Onleihe Rheinland-Pfalz service.
