Between Rhine romanticism, art, and history:
Remagen is one of the most interesting towns on the Middle Rhine. The town's landmarks are the historic bridge towers, which became known worldwide through the film “The Bridge at Remagen.”
The “Peace Museum Bridge at Remagen” displays interesting exhibits relating to the capture of the bridge at the end of World War II.
Since its opening, the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck has become a magnet for national and international cultural tourists.
Like the Rolandsbogen, which inspired many poets to write romantic poetry, the neo-Gothic Apollinariskirche church is well worth a visit.
The Roman fort RIGOMAGVS, with its finds on display in the Roman Museum Remagen, was once the southernmost base of the Lower German Limes, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Remagen Rhine promenade with its cafés and restaurants is located on the idyllic Rhine Cycle Route. Several ferry connections offer a perfect starting point for bike tours on both sides of the Rhine.
