MARTINSKIRCHE

EDIGER-ELLER | St Martin's is a Catholic parish church in the Ediger district of the municipality of Ediger-Eller on the Moselle.

The branch chapel of the Eller parish church dedicated to St Martin of Tours became the parish church of St Martin in Ediger in 1142.
Romanesque remains and Gothic completion (around 1506) present themselves in the beauty visible today. A picturesque gallery connects the choir side with the church gate of the town wall built in 1363.
To the west rises the over 50 metre high bell tower, an outstanding example of late Gothic design.
The octagonal spire is the most richly decorated Gothic slate church spire in Christendom. This article has already been viewed 16630 times. (Source: www.ediger-eller.de)
