Where the campus of the International University of Applied Sciences for Tourism Bad Honnef-Bonn stands today, the foundations for the welfare of the Archbishopric of Cologne were once laid. The former bishop's court was used to store food and other goods, which were then transported to Cologne, usually by ship on the Rhine.
Today, the renowned International University of Applied Sciences for Tourism Bad Honnef-Bonn is located on the site. Graduates of the school also receive a Rheintaler after graduation as a memento of their time studying on the Rhine. The return to the Rhine is then doubly worthwhile.
