The Sayn Castle Butterfly Garden is nestled in the romantic Sayn Castle Park with its old giant trees, ponds and streams.
This small exotic paradise, which is housed in two glass pavilions, was founded in 1987 by Prince Alexander and Princess Gabriela zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn. Visitors stroll among bananas, hibiscus and other tropical plants, surrounded by a thousand and one butterflies.
Dwarf quails with chicks the size of bumblebees, tortoises, colourful tropical finches and the mysterious green iguana are further inhabitants of the Garden of Butterflies at Sayn Castle.
From March to November, you can experience the fairytale of a thousand and one butterflies every day in Sayn.
