The ‘museum with a heart’ constantly surprises visitors with new special exhibitions. It is a magnet for the many visitors to the wine village of Königswinter-Oberdollendorf. This ‘somewhat different local history museum’ is located in the town centre at Bachstraße 93, on the approach to the Rheinsteig trail near the wine hiking trail and the Mühlental valley on the hiking route to Bonn or Heisterbach, surrounded by many cosy restaurants. It is housed in an old half-timbered house from the 17th century and is run on a voluntary basis by the local heritage association.

The special exhibitions are complemented perfectly by various permanent exhibition areas. On permanent display are: a charming old kitchen, a shoemaker's workshop and a unique collection of over 300 group photos with approximately 6,000 identified individuals. In the attic, we present exhibits on the topics of the Heisterbach Valley Railway, stonemasons, quarries, carpenters, joiners and coopers, as well as a clearly arranged demonstration half-timbered house.

The Virtual Brückenhofmuseum

The Virtual Brückenhofmuseum run by our partner association is an online history book and archive for everyone.

It is a treasure trove with over 11,000 images and documents from Königswinter – Oberdollendorf, Niederdollendorf, Römlinghoven, Altstadt and Heisterbach – supplemented by the Siebengebirge mountains with a focus on the Rhine railway line, and selected areas from Bad Honnef and Bonn to Rolandseck.

In this digital memory, you will find thousands of historical postcards, photos and documents relating to the activities of associations, parishes, tradespeople, etc. – Drachenfels and Petersberg, the Rhine, work and festivals related to wine, but also the hardships of times of need and Jewish life before 1945.
