The German Sport & Olympia Museum is located in a former customs hall from the 19th century in Cologne's Rheinauhafen. The Rhine terrace with its view of the Serverinsbrücke bridge and the banks of the Rhine in Deutz is unique.
On approx. 2000 square meters of exhibition and activity space on two floors, various aspects of national, international and Olympic sports are shown in a permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions. A division into different and concisely marked segments enables visitors to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of sport.
The permanent exhibition on the second floor of the museum guides visitors through over 2,500 years of sport up to the present day. Starting with the roots of modern sport, the journey through time leads from ancient Greece to the German gymnastics movement and English sport to the great athletes of today such as Boris Becker, Steffi Graf, Nils Schumann, Michael Schumacher etc.. The more than 3000 exhibits, film documentaries and numerous media stations make the tour through the history of sport a special experience.
At numerous points in the museum, visitors have the opportunity to become active themselves. The first floor of the museum can be rented for conferences, events and functions. It is possible to incorporate the permanent exhibition and any special exhibitions into your event. With exclusive guided tours or our Olympic hands-on program, you can add a special touch to your event in our museum.
