Konrad Adenauer (1876–1967), mayor of Cologne (1917–1933) and first chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany (1949–1963), lived in the house from 1937 until his death.

Today, it traces the course of an extraordinary political biography and vividly conveys the memory of one of the founding fathers of Europe. In addition, the Adenauer House provides impressive insights into the personal life of an important figure.

The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden offering sweeping views across the Rhine Valley. Directly below, the exhibition “Konrad Adenauer – Documents from Four Epochs of German History” invites visitors on a journey through Germany's recent past.
